得獎攝影師NickGleitzman首次 到訪澳門，就知道自己一定會再 來。“我覺得澳門令人很有驚喜，那 種異國風情讓人大開眼界，一事一物 都深深啟發了我──那些顏色、質 地、美麗的葡式建築物、歷史與璀璨 奪目的現代發展成強烈對比，但每次 吸引我的，是這優美風景中古老傳統 那部份。庭園和城中小巷、狹窄街 道，都蘊藏著很多以前的故事，特別 是古老住宅，滿載真人真事，他們歷 代都以澳門為家。我把這些影像叫 作‘明信片’。我創作這些作品的原 因：因為那是我的紀念品，我對這個 迷人城市的點點感覺。”

When award-winning photographer Nick Gleitzman visited Macau for the first time, he knew that he would be back. “I find Macau incredibly exciting. It’s an exotic, visual feast. I get deeply stimulated by everything I see – the colours, the textures, the beautiful Portuguese architecture, the stark contrast of all that history with the glitter and glamour of modern development. But it’s the older, more traditional parts of this wonderful landscape that attract me, time after time. There’s just so much evidence of past stories in the courtyards, alleyways and narrow streets of the city, and especially in the old vilas – stories of real people, who have, for generations, called Macau home. I call these images ‘postcards,’ because to me that’s why I created them: they’re my souvenirs, my personal glimpses of a fascinating city.”

The limited-edition prints in the Postcards from Macau series are produced using heavyweight German watercolour paper and state-of-the-art archival inks. They are on show now at The China Tee Club, Pedder Street, Central, Hong Kong. More of Gleitzman’s works can be found at www.nickgleitzman.com
